Takanuva

SUMMARY

Takanuva, the 7th Toa, redesigned in an Inika style build to give better articulation. Featuring a dynamic weapon doubling as a kolhii stick inspired by The Mask Of Light.

BACKGROUND:

"Legends foretell the coming of a seventh Toa who would bring light to the shadows and awaken Mata-Nui"

Sadly, legends also told that such an important character would be released in 2003 where articulation in constraction sets didn't really exist.

GOALS:

1. Ensure that my re-imagined sets are recognisable and as true to the original aesthetics as possible.
2. Improve proportions and articulation, avoiding the overbulked "chad" style.
3. Retain play features if possible, otherwise introduce new dynamic features.

The hardest part of this design was definitely finding the right pieces in the old "Flat Gold". Seeing as these pieces are pre-05, incorporating them to the Inika style build the allowed for the improved articulation was a bit of a challenge and required some improvisation and unconventional connections.

QUICK DISCLAIMER:

• For the purposes of photography, I substitute blue pin axles with black. In the instruction files and parts lists, I use blue ones to make it easier for you to buy the parts needed. I can recommend Vonado and WeBrick for high quality non-authentic pieces should you prefer to use black, and can't source authentic pieces.
