Irnakk

SUMMARY

The combiner/limited edition Skakdi, revamped with new weapon and re-proportioned arms and neck.

BACKGROUND

“Alive, you can fill the air with the music of your screams. Dead, you are just silent meat.”

Irnakk, the physical manifestation of the Pirakas’ worst nightmare. That’s a goofy looking nightmare.

The idea of this set was pretty cool, even if it was mostly a gimmick to sell some limited editions. But as with many combiners, especially titan builds, there was potential that just wasn’t tapped into.

With a great colour scheme, a pretty sick backstory, and the improved articulation we saw with the infamous Inika build, you’d have thought we’d get better for Irnakk. Although there isn’t a lot to do with this one, man do some small changes go a long way!

GOALS

1. Ensure that my re-imagined sets are recognisable and as true to the original aesthetics as possible.
2. Improve proportions and articulation, avoiding the overbulked "chad" style.
3. Retain play features if possible, otherwise introduce new dynamic features.

Articulation and proprtions weren’t all that bad with Irnakk to begin with, but I did make sure to address the arms to give them the standard points of articulation where they were missing elbows previously.

I was never impressed with the weapons on Irnakk, the claw thing was weird, and the execution of the Skakdi skulls on the launcher just didn’t work for me.

• The appearance of the piraka spine in the instructions will be very weird. There's just no good part for it in Stud.io so I made do with what I could. Hopefully it's sufficient for you to figure out.
